the birth of Aurora Botanica

 Aurora Botanica is a floral and design studio now based in Rhode Island, serving New England, NYC and Upstate NY, founded by Rawan Rihani (RISD alumna 2005). With a background in art, fashion design, and dance, Rawan approaches flowers creating and experimenting with movement, playing with textures, blending colors, and and creates custom work that elicits a sense of wonder. Her design process begins with creating a story or mood for inspiration and then makes it come to life through flowers.

In addition to designing weddings and installations, she also designs custom floral headpieces, custom accessories like veils and capes for brides, and is now offering bespoke stationery. She enjoys working on the whole look and vibe of the wedding through these different mediums.

Some of her floral styling and installations, custom headpieces and wearables have been featured in publications such as Vogue Magazine and Harper’s Bazaar. Her clients, who include Viktor + Rolf, Vogue Magazine, Byredo, Nike, and Armani.

Rawan is an artist and continues to collaborate and captivate, by curating moments through flowers throughout the world creating emotion, movement and inspiration in the process.
